Published by on January 12, 2011

Chairman of Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) Dr Surbir Paudel has cautioned that the stock market, which already is at low ebb, could crash further if the confidence of general investors is not rebuilt soon. Speaking at an inaugural of the two-week long training on ´Economy and Stock Market´ that began here on Tuesday, he appealed to the investors not to shy away from the secondary market investment, especially as the current gloom has also given opportunity for them to buy shares at low rates.

The training organized by Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) in partnership with Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) aims to upgrade the capacity of stock market reporters. Thirty-five business reporters from various media organization are participating in the training. Dr Paudel stressed on the need to educate general public on stock market, as a large number of investors are naive to stock market operation, and appealed to the media persons to make special efforts in this connection.
