HBL plans to add 10 branches and 20 ATM in FY 066/67

Himalayan Bank Ltd has plans to open 10 branches and extend 20 more ATMs by the end of the current fiscal year, the bank´s chairman Manoj Bahadur Shrestha told the 17th annual general meeting of the bank Sunday.

The bank is also planning to start morning and evening counters in all of its 25 branches, according to a statement issued Sunday. Other plans unveiled Sunday include rolling out of technology driven products and service and expansion of remittance business to Asian, European and American markets with ´focus on further sophisticated services´.

The bank´s deposits at the end of the first four month of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 37.97 billion, while loans were Rs 28.22 billion and operating profit was Rs 258.5 million. HBL also declared a net profit of Rs 752.84 million for fiscal year 2008/09, a rise of 18.39 percent rise. Operating profit for the period was Rs 1.16 billion.

At the end of the fiscal year, the bank´s NPA was at 2.16 percent while deposits increased 8.91 percent to Rs 34.68 billion and loans and advances rose 26.46 percent to reach Rs 25.52 billion.
